In order to ensure an optimal and fluid synchronisation of surtitles with the actors’ performances on stage, the surtitles must be run by a trained operator. This person, who has been taught high quality standards and their particular responsibility during the performance, runs each surtitle individually according to the rhythm of the action and the actors on stage. They can react to unforeseen events, such as jumps in the text, and thus ensure that the surtitles are smoothly integrated into the performance and that the reading speed is optimised.
