Panthea widens its reach in North America

From Denver to Montreal, Panthea has continued to expand across North America, building new partnerships and making culture ever more accessible.

Spectitular sets up shop in Denver

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver, Colorado, recently selected Spectitular, Panthea’s self-developed surtitling software, in a major modernisation of its surtitling equipment. Our collaboration with the opera house, which launched in early September, includes a training session and marks a key milestone in Panthea’s expansion across North America.

For several years, Panthea has been an active presence in the United States, supporting tours of European productions, including a show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and collaborating with prestigious institutions, such as Princeton and Vanderbilt Universities. Most recently, we also contributed to the musical production Elephant Shoes by Deaf West Theatre, during its première at Two River Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey.

Accessibility at the core of our growth

In mid-August, Panthea took part in LEAD (Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability), a major international conference dedicated to accessibility in the arts, organized by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia. We will be returning to the US in October for a series of meetings along the East Coast.

This activity in North America is part of our internationalisation strategy, carried out through the Cultur’Export programme, supported by Bpifrance and Business France.

In Canada, Panthea already has several long-standing partners, including the Théâtre Français de Toronto and the Rideau Vert in Montreal, and is now working to expand its accessibility service across Quebec. This has led to a collaboration with Hospes, a newly established disability organisation working in the performing arts, and with Repercussion Theatre, Montreal, which uses our panthea.live Go service to allow audiences to stream surtitles directly on their own smartphones.

These projects reflect Panthea’s continuing commitment to making culture more accessible on both sides of the Atlantic!
