The Comédie-Française is having a blast all over Paris

A half-season beyond the walls…but still accessible!

From January to July 2026, the Comédie-Française, a Panthea partner, temporarily left its iconic Salle Richelieu for major renovations. During this period, the company is performing across several theatres in Paris. The main venue is the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin, where “Le Bourgeois gentilhomme” (The Bourgeois Gentleman), “Le Cid” (The Cid), and “Le Malade imaginaire” (The Imaginary Invalid) are being staged.

The most accessible theatre in the world

All performances of the previously named shows remain accessible with panthea.live smart glasses, allowing audience members to freely choose between French surtitles, descriptive surtitles for Deaf or hard-of-hearing audience, English surtitles, or French Sign Language. Thanks to these efforts, the Comédie-Française continues to be a benchmark in accessibility, with over 400 accessible performances in 2025 and thousands of benefiting audience members.

Also at the Châtelet

It’s worth noting that the company will also perform Offenbach’s operetta La Vie parisienne (Parisian Life) at the Théâtre du Châtelet in June and July 2026. This production will close their season with a spectacular finale and continue their commitment to accessibility; the Châtelet offers surtitling glasses and even provide sign-singing interpretation for all performances.
